Deep within this darkness I change. It’s always the moments we ignore, the ones we discard for the insatiable hunger of something better, that prove to be where magic lives. There is beauty in the worst times of our lives. When there is nothing to look forward to, when the distractions are long gone, and lust has turned to heartbreak, we can begin to do the important work of going on the journey of picking up all the pieces of ourselves we discarded in our past. This is where can begin to ask ourselves why we decided to betray ourselves in the first place.

In this crossroads is where we decide once and for all if we will transcend our fear or live in hiding for the rest of our lives.

We’ll speak our truth. We’ll write the song. We’ll share the secret poetry account we’ve been writing in secrecy for decades. Or we will continue to live our lives with a paper smile over our sadness, feeding the machine while we slowly starve ourselves.

In the darkness is where we stop running from the me…
